Shelter magazine raises New York edition rate base by 30%, expanding overall reach to over 500,000; advertising revenue up 11% over 2012.
NEW YORK, January 27, 2014 – Luxe Interiors + Design™ (luxesource.com), the largest network of luxury shelter magazines, is celebrating huge growth during a time when most home-focused publications are facing challenges. In spring 2014, Luxe will raise the rate base of its New York edition, launched only in 2011, by 30 percent. That increase, coupled with the debut of a San Francisco edition this summer, will expand Luxe’s overall circulation by 12.5 percent to 450,000 and its distribution to 525,000 nationwide, a 13 percent from 2013 to 2014.
On the advertising front, Luxe has surged an impressive 11 percent in advertising revenue and eight percent in advertising paging for 2013 versus 2012. Even with the highest cover price in the shelter category, at $9.95, the magazine has demonstrated steady circulation growth, with an increase of four percent in newsstand sales, versus a downward trend for shelter publications at large.
“Luxe has experienced consistent momentum since we launched our first edition in 2005,” said Adam I. Sandow, CEO and Chairman of SANDOW, which publishes Luxe Interiors + Design. “That kind of growth is an indicator that this brand is offering something to both readers and advertisers that sets it apart from competitors, who lack the local penetration and relationships that we have in 13 markets across the U.S.”
The New York edition of Luxe has seen tremendous success, having grown a whopping 48 percent in advertising paging from 2012 to 2013. It has a larger distribution in the Tri-State area—which includes Manhattan, Connecticut, Westchester County, Long Island, The Hamptons and New Jersey—than any other shelter magazine. In addition to raising its rate base from 50,000 to 65,000, Luxe New York will debut Luxe Interiors + Design HAMPTONS in its Summer issue. The magazine-within-a-magazine will highlight the best in style that The Hamptons has to offer, with 10,000 additional copies distributed throughout the Hamptons this summer.
Luxe Group Publisher Janice Browne added, “The circulation of the New York edition, only a little over two years in the market, is now the largest of all of our regional editions—appropriate since NY is one of the most important centers for design. And, as the numbers show, advertisers continue to respond enthusiastically to what Luxe New York has to offer. We look forward to having a bigger presence in the region, including our Hamptons expansion this year.”
