New York, NY. April 14, 2015 – Material ConneXion, the world’s largest subscription-based library of unique, innovative and sustainable materials, in collaboration with Material ConneXion Italia, will participate in the 54th edition of Salone del Mobile in Milan, Italy, from April 14 – 19.
The Material ConneXion booth, located at the entrance of Halls 9/11, will be entirely dedicated to the world of materials and innovative production processes, with a wide display of construction and architecture sample materials hand-selected from Material ConneXion’s library of over 7,500 materials. Material ConneXion Italia is pleased to partner with Axalta on this initiative.
Material ConneXion’s publications will be available for purchase on-site. Titled Material Innovation: Product Design and Material Innovation: Architecture, each book features an extensive illustrated materials directory and detailed information on almost 100 materials, plus specially commissioned “visual narratives” by experts in the field.
Material ConneXion Italia will also host the second edition of Materials Village, an innovative concept that allows companies from various sectors to come together to focus on the topic of materials and innovation. This special project consists of a series of view boxes and houses of different sizes in the Superstudio garden in via Tortona.
The diverse array of companies involved include: 3M; Carmon@Carbon; Coalesse; Elitis; Finproject; Florim; FriulMosaic; Oikos; Oltremateria; Tile Skin; Turkish Ceramics and XL EXTRALIGHT. In addition, an installation by the Architect Marcello Cerasuolo will be on display. Composed of a multi-story modular structure, the installation is especially interesting due to the flexibility of its units, combining an environmentally friendly essence with a trendy, modern design.
