NEW YORK, January 23, 2014 — SANDOW® (http://www.sandow.com), which builds smart businesses driven by innovation and design, has officially completed its new global headquarters in Midtown Manhattan’s historic Time & Life Building. Located at 1271 Avenue of the Americas, the office fills 40,000 square feet on the skyscraper’s 17th floor and houses over 120 employees.
Soon, the company will unveil a new corporate brand identity, today announced Chairman & CEO Adam I. Sandow. Previously known as Sandow Media since its inception in 2003, the company will now be known simply as SANDOW. This shift reflects the multi-faceted nature of its businesses, which go well beyond media.
“Though our growing footprint in media remains core to our success, we approach brand building in an innovative way. Using our publishing assets as a foundation, we’re able to develop entirely new businesses in areas as diverse as e-commerce, consumer products, consulting, conferences and events,” Sandow said. “This change, along with the opening of our global headquarters, comes at a pivotal time in the growth of our company and reflects the diversity and uniqueness of our brand portfolio and the categories in which we do business.”
The company’s New York global headquarters is home to media brands Interior Design, Luxe Interiors + Design, NewBeauty and Worth. Other SANDOW businesses, such as creative management agency Culture + Commerce, materials library and consultancy firm Material ConneXion and iconic retail brand Fred Segal, also share this location.
Designed by award-winning architecture firm Gensler, SANDOW’s headquarters features an open floor plan with collaborative workspaces, an in-house Starbucks, subsidized for employees and Material ConneXion’s flagship library showcasing more than 7,000 innovative and sustainable materials.
Over the past decade, SANDOW has grown exponentially—both through organic expansion of existing brands and strategic acquisitions—and now boasts 350 employees in 14 offices around the world. During that period, the company maintained a compounded annual growth rate of over 38 percent.
In addition to its global HQ in New York, SANDOW opened a 30,000 square foot, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in South Florida in November 2012.
